Branson, Missouri.

We took a New Years trip to Branson, Missouri to finish off the year.
A little snow on the morning we left, but we didn't have any problems.

Table Rock Lake State Park.

Shamus takes a nice warm walk in the sun by the lake.

We love to watch the glass blowers at Silver Dollar City, they make it look so easy.

The lights are amazing at Silver Dollar City especially with half off tickets.

Washington State Park; Desoto, Missouri

It was our first time using the Rav-4 as a tow vehicle. It worked great!

The park is full of wonderful examples of  C.C.C. buildings

Shamus and Elaine on an early morning stroll along the bluffs.

We had a nice hike on the 1000 Steps Trail.

Shamus takes a rest overlooking the Big River valley.
A yummy pot of beef stew, mmmmm.
A nice evening for a campfire.

A beautiful foggy morning bug-out.

St. Franocios State Park; Bonne Terre, Missouri

We had a wonderful time at a park about an hour's drive from home. Charlie and Connie met us there and Norma and Don came for the day on Saturday. It was a great weekend with friends.

The Big River flows through the park.

Minnows attacking a dead cricket.

Potatoes ready to cook.

Potatoes on the bottom, dessert on the top.

 Almost Pumpkin Pie.

Our favorite site in the park #29

Cooneville Creek.

Shamus loves to hike.

Cooneville Creek Falls

Our trailer looks puny next to Charlie and Connie's.
Time to say goodbye.

Montauk State Park, Licking, Missouri. September 2012

We had a wet Labor Day weekend thanks to Hurricane Issac. Mike and Gina and family joined us along with our friend Dave for some fishing and good eating
Our wet campsite. Since the soil is sandy it drained quickly.

The beautiful Current River.
Rainy and foggy, just the way I like it.
Dinner was great.
So was breakfast!
Spotted Touch-Me-Nots were in bloom.

Luke got a little wet, but was happy to be camping.

Our little T@B next to Mike and Gina's big fifth wheel.
Matt does a little angling.
Shamus does a little sleeping.
Nick plays with Dad's waders.

Shamus takes a walk to the lodge.

Humming birds at the lodge.

Luke's first ride without training wheels.

Happy Luke with a proud Daddy.
One of my favorite places to fish. I love the quietness of morning on the river.

Mike and Gina and family. Those kid can fish!
