It was 70 degrees on Saturday, after being below freezing earlier in the week. It made for a muddy campsite due to the snowmelt, but it was great weather for outdoor cooking.

The lodge at Pere Marquette was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps from stone quarried in the area.
